“This album is my heart, my spirit, and my soul. Everything I say on this record comes from a place I’ve been. Broken, tore down, and fallen; Picked up, held, and put back together. These songs are my expressions of those places. A blend of pain, frustration, and a lot of hope, I put the pen to the pad and wrote. “The Pretty Ugly” is deep full of meaning, and I really hope those who listen can come up with their own interpretations and apply them to their lives. I really had the listener in mind throughout this project, because I know I am not the only one to go through life and wonder, “am I doing it right?” I hope this album encourages you, and helps you discover more about yourself and your situations in light of the fact that God paid a ugly price for such a pretty and precious gift: you and me.
